About Me

I have been studying Spanish since 1980 when I entered 9th grade.  In those four years I was able to master many of the nuances of acquiring Spanish, but had not quite mastered how to use it effectively to communicate.  After graduating from high school, I joined the army and studied Spanish at the Defense Language Institute which used to be based out of Monterey, California.  It was here that I was able to develop the skills necessary to effectively communicate all that I had acquired through high school Spanish.  I briefly worked for a private detective agency before attending Frostburg State University.

After graduating in May 1997 from Frostburg State University with a major in Spanish and a minor in French, I taught in Calvert County Maryland until 2004.  I then taught in Frederick County, Virginia from 2004 until 2007.  I have been teaching in Washington County, Maryland since the fall of 2004.

I am married and live in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania with my wife and son.
